Golf

Golf leagues and cups are played as match play: two sides play the same holes, and each hole is won by one side or halved. Stroke play and Stableford aren't available yet.

The match

Pick Match play (18 holes) for a full round or Match play (9 holes) for a short one. Each hole is recorded as won by one side or Hole halved.

A match ends as soon as the lead can't be caught: three holes up with two to play is over, the result golfers call "3 & 2". You don't have to play out the remaining holes.

Formats

A golf fixture can include:

  • Singles: one player against one.
  • Foursomes (alternate shot): pairs taking turns with one ball.
  • Fourball (better ball): pairs each playing their own ball, the better score counting.

Set these up in the match format; see Match formats.

Who goes first

The tee order is set on the league or cup (home, away, or a coin toss), and shown on the fixture.
