Teams and team members
A team is the people who play together, in as many leagues and cups as they like. Go to Teams in the sidebar to see yours, or press New team to make one; you'll be its owner.
Inviting people
From the team's page, search for someone with an account and invite them; they accept or decline from their Invitations page. If nobody has an account with that email address, you're offered an email invitation instead: they sign up from the email and join the team as they do, even while sign-up is invite-only.
Roles and what each person can do
Every member has a role, and each role starts with a set of permissions:
- Owner: can do everything, and can't be restricted.
- Captain: runs the team day to day: line-ups, scoring and results, stats, availability, postponements, members and guests, answering league and cup invitations, and team settings.
- Secretary: the same as a captain, except picking the line-up and changing team settings.
- Player: sees the team's stats.
The role is only a starting point. The owner can turn each permission on or off for each member, from Members in the team's admin panel. Changes save as you make them, and Reset to … defaults puts a member back to what their role starts with.
Some things only the owner can do: decide what other members may do, hand the team to someone else, and fold the team.
The team admin panel
Members who help run the team get an admin panel with the pages their permissions allow:
- Overview: what needs attention, the next fixture and recent form.
- Members: roles and permissions, and removing members.
- Guests: players without an account.
- Competitions: league and cup invitations waiting for an answer, where the team plays, and requests you've made to join.
- Stats and Settings.
Guest players
A guest plays for the team without an account: they're in line-ups and stats like anyone else, marked as a guest. When a guest signs up, link them to their account from Guests, and their history comes with them. Adding guests to a team is on paid plans.
Entering competitions
Anyone with the job of answering for the team (the owner, captains and secretaries to start with) can accept an invitation, or ask to join with a competition's link or code, on the team's behalf. See Joining a league or cup.
Leaving, removing and handing over
- Members can leave whenever they like. The owner has to hand the team to someone else first.
- Members with Manage members can remove other members, but not the owner.
- The owner can hand the team to another member, who becomes the new owner.
- A team that has stopped playing can be folded. See Withdrawals and folding a team.
