Withdrawals and folding a team
Sometimes a team or player can't carry on. Each league and cup sets its own rules for what happens, so it's decided once and the same way for everyone.
Your league's rules
Set them on the Withdrawals page of the League admin panel. There's a reminder until you do. The rules cover:
- Their results so far: keep every result; void all their results; void only the games they lost or only the games they won; keep the results but take away points their opponents got for losing to them; or the Halfway rule, the usual one in many leagues: if they've played fewer than half their games, all their results are voided and they leave the table, otherwise their results stand, they stay in the table marked withdrawn, and their remaining games are cancelled.
- Their remaining games: awarded to the opponent as a walkover, cancelled with no points for anyone, or deleted from the fixture list.
- The table: kept in it at the bottom, marked withdrawn, or taken out.
- Players' stats from voided games: kept or removed.
Before you confirm a withdrawal, you're shown exactly what it will do to the table and the fixtures.
Asking to withdraw
A team or player can ask to withdraw from the competition's page. The request goes to the organiser, who approves or declines it on the Withdrawals page, and the league's rules decide what happens to the results and remaining games. Organisers can also withdraw someone themselves.
Withdrawing from a cup
On a cup's Withdrawals page:
- In a knockout, ties already played stand. Choose what happens to their place: their opponents go through on a walkover, the last entrant they knocked out comes back, another entrant who was knocked out comes back, or someone new takes their place.
- In a group, league or Swiss stage, the same kind of rules as a league apply, set on the same page.
A cup that hasn't started yet doesn't need a withdrawal: just take them off the roster.
Folding a team
A team that has stopped playing can be folded by its owner, from the team's settings. Folding keeps everything the team did, its results, fixtures and the tables it finished in, and takes everyone out of it so it can't be entered into anything again.
A team still playing in a league season or a cup has to withdraw from it first, and each organiser has to approve that. Entries in competitions that haven't started are simply dropped.
Ending a cup early
If a cup can't be finished, its owner can press End the cup early in the cup's admin panel. Unplayed matches are cancelled and the cup finishes with no winner.
