How a round robin works
In a round robin every team plays every other team, so the table at the end is a fair measure of the whole season rather than a lucky draw. Each round, every team plays once. With an odd number of teams one team sits out each round with a bye, and everybody sits out exactly once.
Most pub and club leagues play home and away: everyone meets twice, once at each venue. That doubles the length of the season, so it’s worth checking how many weeks you have before you choose.

One round for each opponent. With an even number of teams that is one fewer than the number of teams, so 8 teams play 7 rounds. With an odd number, every team sits out one round with a bye, so 7 teams also play 7 rounds. Home and away doubles it.
Every pair of teams meets once: the number of teams times one fewer, halved. 8 teams make 28 fixtures, 10 teams make 45. Home and away doubles it.
One team has a bye each round, and every team has exactly one bye over the list (two when it is home and away). The generator shows who has the bye in each round.
Yes. Home and away games alternate as evenly as a round robin allows, so no team is at home, or away, three rounds running. In a home-and-away list every team plays everyone once at home and once away.
Yes. Say how many divisions you want and the generator shares the teams between them, then makes each division its own round robin, all starting on the same night. Without an account you can make up to 40 teams in up to 2 divisions. A free account has no limit.
